The name "Royal" comes from the original meaning of the word "TUDOR": the Tudor dynasty. The brand already used "Royal" as a product name as early as the 1960s, with model Ref. 7934 being the earliest "Royal" watch. However, it was short-lived and its style was more like a "dress watch." Many years later, the new series reverts to the "Royal" name, which seems to be a tribute to historical tradition. Luxury replica watches cheap, luxury brands watches like Omega, Audemars Piguet, Breitling, Hublot or Tudor replica watches.
The Tudor Royal collection offers models in various sizes. Except for the 41mm model which features a dual calendar (day-date) function, the other sizes only have a date window at the 3 o'clock position on the dial. The 41mm dual calendar model is powered by the Tudor T603 automatic movement, a modified version of the Sellita SW240-1, maintaining almost identical dimensions and parameters, including a 28,800 VPH frequency and a 38-hour power reserve.
Five years after the launch of the Tudor Royal series (in 2025), Rolex is making a high-profile return to the luxury sports watch market. The reason for calling it a "return" is that this isn't Rolex's first foray into this field. Back in the 1970s, Rolex introduced the "Oysterquartz," a luxury sports watch powered by the brand's in-house 5035 quartz movement. At the time, it was considered cutting-edge.
The newly launched Rolex Land-Dweller series in 2025 draws inspiration from the design of the historical Oyster Quartz while reinterpreting it with modern craftsmanship and technology. The new model continues the dual-size strategy of the historical model, offering 36mm and 40mm versions. Regardless of size, they all feature a precious metal bezel (18K white gold, 18K rose gold, 950 platinum), exuding luxury. The innovation of the Land-Dweller is first evident in the sunburst dial (the white version has a frosted effect) with a laser-cut honeycomb pattern. Meanwhile, the hands have also been redesigned, with a hexagonal pattern at the tip of the seconds hand echoing the dial's texture. The baton-shaped hour and minute hands are covered with a large area of luminescent material, enhancing the watch's luminescence and complementing the hour marker details.
Following the 1908 model, the Land-Dweller is another watch series to feature a transparent case back, housing the 7135 automatic movement, making its debut in the series. This is an automatic movement with a high frequency of 36,000 VPH, improving the indicating accuracy to 1/10 of a second. While maintaining a high frequency, it still boasts a power reserve of up to 66 hours. Furthermore, the movement is equipped with a "Dynamic Pulse" system consisting of a silicon escape wheel and escapement fork, as well as a Syloxi silicon hairspring, providing some antimagnetic capabilities.
